Jasmine Sherni defies convention. Taking her South Asian identity into every rope, wax, kink and BDSM opportunity, she has come a long way from being an ICU nurse. With a journey as varied and vast as her own, it is no wonder she has seen the success she has. Read on to learn more about how she went from small town life to working with Brazzers.
Tell us about Jasmine Sherni's journey and background.
I grew up in “Small Town” Louisiana, as I call it. Originally, I wanted to go to university for chemical engineering. But I was in love, and my partner at the time talked me into going to a local university where I had a full academic scholarship. The plan was to become a registered nurse, and eventually go back to school for something that I actually loved later on.
While I was a nurse, I was also a secret frequenter of sex and kink parties, and an admirer of local burlesque shows. I had gathered friends who were creatives from all walks of life. I started modeling for local photographers and creating with my friends. Eventually, I realized I was miserable in the hospital and in my career. But how could I walk away from a career I worked so hard to get and spent so much time in?
Finally, I decided it was time for me to leave nursing altogether. A few of my friends suggested that I continue my work in social media, influencing, and creating content because I enjoyed it so much. So, I went ahead and made a separate modeling page and to my surprise, it took off quicker than I could have imagined! Within the first month I had dozens of DMs asking for more. Then I started a pay site in March 2022, and it has been uphill since!
You describe yourself as South Asian, queer, alternative, and kinky. How do these labels shape who you are as a person and an adult Performer?
I think to answer the question accurately, I would have to flip those two around. I believe becoming an adult performer helped me lean into my identities in ways I felt I could not before. For the first time in my life, I feel like I get to be who I am on my own terms.
Being a content creator on social media has connected me with other people who also intersect in some of the places I do. People who have helped show me that I am enough in all of my identities. I am South Asian enough. I am queer enough. I am kinky enough. I am alternative enough. I am enough. I am valid. I get to bring all of these aspects of myself into my work in ways that feel good and authentic to me.
Being a queer Desi who lives an “alternative” or non-traditional lifestyle, it is rare that I find places where there are people who look like me and share my values or accept me. But I know they are out there! They message me. They subscribe to me. They cheer me on behind their screens and it has made me feel so whole and so at home with who I am. Our lives and self-identities can fluctuate as we grow, learn, and change, but for now, and for the first time in a long time, this feels really good.
Your PH bio mentions that you spent time reclaiming your body and pleasure as your own. One of our core values is Freedom of Sexual Expression, what does this mean to you and what is your favorite way to sexually express yourself?
Having freedom of sexual expression for me means choosing what and how I get to revel in pleasure. Sexual expression is healing and nourishing. I love that sexual expression, in general, has such a wide range. Like most things it is on a spectrum. Because of this, I find it hard to pick one favorite way. Like sand shifting beneath your feet on the beach as you walk, how I engage in sexual pleasure changes day by day, moment by moment, and partner to partner.
Who are some Models you think we should have on our radar and why?
Sarah Arabic and Aaliyah Yasin are two big time brown baddies for sure! Both lean into their culture and embrace it in beautiful ways.
Sarah, as her name implies, is Arabic. She has a wide range of content! She is often my go-to person for advice when it comes to what to expect and navigating certain aspects of pro work.
Aaliyah Yasin is Pakistani in the UK. She does a fair amount of Desi themed content. Her career has definitely been taking off! Aaliyah has also been a great resource in navigating the marketing realms.
As far as amateur creators, Slay Hil and Dani Synclair are who I would recommend. Slay is Indian and Punjabi. She is predominately active on online forums and specializes in cosplays, South Asian wear, and some light kink. Dani is bi, tall, Black kinky switch with a beautiful face!
Rumor has it that you have a fun photoshoot in the works! Can you tell us more about how you will be blending kink and South Asian elements?
The rumor mill is coming in with hot truths! Without giving too much away, I am hoping to fuse shibari (rope bondage) and South Asian fashion elements. Think sarees and the endless ways to drape/tie them; jewelry/accessories like a paranda, haath phool, maang tikka, alongside rope or tied in. It is still in development, but it has been living in my head rent free demanding to come out!
We noticed that some of your content contains costumes and other elements of cosplay. Can we expect to see some cosplay adventures uploaded to PH in the near future?
I am hoping to! My cosplay skills are nowhere near some of the other professionals that I have seen, but I very much enjoy adding elements of costume and role-play/cosplay into my work. It is fun, it is creative, it makes me laugh and brings me a lot of joy! Which for me is very important in my work and life. Plus, it gives me a professional reason to read more comic books and fiction!
I did a JOI based off Scream for Halloween. It was fun to watch the opening scene, review the script, write up my own, and play around with it. In the words of Dr. Stuart Brown, “work does not work without play.”
Congratulations on shooting with Brazzers! We’re excited for it to be released. Tell us about your initial reaction to filming with a production studio and how it came to be.
It still feels surreal! My video was actually released this past October! Honestly, my experience with Brazzers was so amazing. The bar is so high! From start to finish, the Brazzers team has been and continues to be so wonderful.
On how it started, I was introduced to my Director Marvin Akanyi by Sarah Arabic, and we became friends. I had never shot anything pro before, but while I was traveling for the summer, I had decided I wanted to shoot pro. Marvin and I were talking, and he asked me if I would be interested in shooting with Brazzers and told me he had an idea. Marvin is truly a beam of light and an amazing person. So, when he told me he had an idea and faith in me, I knew it would be good!
If you could pick one dream location to shoot a scene, where would it be? Additionally, if you could pick anyone to collaborate with, who would be a part of this fantasy?
My dream scene would include a series of vignettes across a regency-styled mansion or castle with a stunning garden, like what you see in Bridgerton. The ambiance would be set in the evening, characterized by seductive, dim, and moody candlelit lighting. I would want to create something that tantalizes the audience not only in the purely physical sexual sense we often see but also emotionally, visually, and mentally. A piece that would make people feel as though they were transported to another realm or dimension and possibly turn them on in ways they had not thought of before!
Performers like Keiran Lee, Kazumi, Sarah Arabic, Aaliyah Yasin, Yasmina Khan, Gattouz0, Slay Hil, Niks Indian, Hailey Rose and Max Fills, Marie Sauvage, and Mistress Iris would all make appearances.
What is next in your career and what goals are you looking to achieve in the near future?
As far as my career goes, I hope to continue pushing my creative boundaries, honing my skills, and learning more about myself and the world. I want to continue shooting with production companies and creators alike!
I want to continue working with and connecting with amazing people. Maybe go on a few podcasts, rope model, dance, perform, create, and so on. I hope to continue helping others see themselves in places they haven’t before, both on the porn screen and in the world.
Will your fans be lucky enough to catch you at any upcoming expos or events?
When it comes to expos, I am planning to attend AVN in January! I have no idea what to expect, so I am a little nervous, but excited! I have been playing with the idea of going to EXXXOTICA in Miami as well. I am sure there will be more on my list as I learn, grow, and understand what to expect at expos.
